Cargo experts carry off a trophy

A FREIGHT company with headquarters in Hythe has won an international award.

Laser Transport International received the British International Freight Association gold trophy for its deep seas and multimodal activities.

The award was sponsored by ocean carrier Maersk Sealand and was presented to the company at the freight service annual awards ceremony hosted by Top Gear presenter, Quentin Wilson, in London.

The company, which transports cargo by sea, air, road, and rail to countries throughout the world is based at the Lympne Industrial Park but has offices all over the country.

It also has an aerospace division, which handles the international movement of satellites, spacecraft and associated ground support equipment to test and integration facilities in Europe and North America and to the launch sites in French Guiana and Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Managing director John Smith said: "It is all about skilled, highly trained staff, innovation and above all striving for continuous improvement in customer care and service."
