Site manager hooks regional award

A BUILDING site manager from Chatham has won a quality award for his work at Countryside Residential's Fishermans Wharf development on St Mary's Island.

Robert Rees is one of 75 regional winners in the first round of the National House-Building Council's 2002 Pride in the Job campaign.

The annual competition aims to find the UK's best house-building site managers. The winners will now go through to the next stage to compete for one of the Top 100 Seal of Excellence Awards to be revealed in the autumn.

The competition reaches its climax next January when the top three site managers in the UK will be chosen at a gala dinner in London. David Chapman, senior regional director and chairman of the judges, said: "In the final analysis we want to see top-quality homes that have been constructed with meticulous attention to detail.

"All of these winners have managed to meet this standard and they can be justifiably proud of their achievements."
