Supermarket bid granted

AN ALDI store will be built in Strood after planners gave the go-ahead.

The cut-price store will be built in Friary Place along with a large unit with two floors for more shops which will be added on to the Friary Precinct.

Extra car parking spaces will also to be provided.

But fears over Strood Market, which used the site, have been eased as Aldi has agreed to let the market continue as normal on its grounds.
