A couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows - dressed as Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Julie Webb Flint and her husband Jason, both 42, celebrated their china anniversary by having a blessing at St Mary’s Church, in Mounts Road, Greenhithe.

The Disney-themed ceremony saw Rev Richard Barron, who conducted their marriage ceremony in 1992, dressed as Friar Tuck from Robin Hood.

He said: "I thought it was a really good day. It was great to see everyone enjoying the spirit of it and when they asked if they could have a Disney theme, I saw no reason why not.

"I thoroughly enjoyed it and they danced down the aisle to a Disney song after the wedding march. It really was a celebration of marriage."

More than 101 relations also got in on the act on Saturday, dressing as characters including Daisy Duck, Woody from Toy Story, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, Shrek and Fiona, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs even high-hoed in on the action.

Julie, who had her honeymoon at Disney World, said: "It started off as a bit of a joke, but everyone loved it and it went on from there.

"We all had a great day; it was so relaxed and informal. Even inside the church, the reverend was dancing to Disney tunes.

"Everyone looked fantastic and really made our day."

The couple live with their sons in The Crescent, Greenhithe.

Liam, 17, and 15-year-old Luke were easily recognised as Donald Duck and Goofy.

The traditional wedding march was replaced with the Mickey Mouse Club House theme tune and the couple left the ceremony to Shrek’s finale number, I’m a Believer, and A Spoonful of Sugar from Mary Poppins.

During the service there was also a performance of the Colonel Hathi Elephant March from the Jungle Book.

The ensemble then made their way to Knockhall Park for a group photo featuring all the characters.
