A man accused of murdering a young woman in Swanley has made his first appearance at Maidstone Crown Court.

Adam Whelehan, of Roseberry Avenue, Sidcup, is alleged to have killed 23-year-old Natalie Jarvis last Wednesday.

Natalie, pictured left, was found with stab wounds to her neck late at night in a quiet street in Swanley Village.

Paramedics battled to save her life, but she died at the scene.

Whelehan, 22, spoke only to be identified during the brief hearing today.

He was remanded in custody until December 18, when he will enter a plea.
