Angley has top young farmers

CRANBROOK'S Angley School Young Farmers Club won the top prize in the young farmers section at the Kent County show this year by a huge margin.

The school club amassed 355 points in the classes open to young farmers to take the coveted Patullo Higgs Cup on Sunday.

Oldborough Manor School, Maidstone, came in second place with 259 points and Westlands School, Sittingbourne, in third place with 252 points.

Heather Cooper, of Angley School YFC, also won the trophy for the supreme turnout championship with her blue cross Romney sheep Arwin.

And Jonathan Wallace, from Angley School YFC, was reserve champion in the supreme turnout competition with his pigs.

Cobtree Young Farmers Club won the Langafel trophy for being the open club with the most points.
