Anthony Topp blew his top... when he arrived home to find a pal sitting next to an ex-lover dressed in HER pink hotpants.

The 36-year-old had expected to meet ex-partner Alexandria John after the two arranged she could leave her pet dogs at his Ashford home.

But when he walked in he found her with two men – one wearing her hotpants – and then ordered them out three times.

As they walked out, an argument broke out and Topp armed himself with a chain and struck out at his former partner and the two men – leaving them bruised.

Topp, of Beaver Road, admitted three assaults in August this year and was given a nine-month jail sentence suspended for two years.

He was also ordered to stump up £200 in compensation to each victim, which had to be paid within six months.

Prosecutor Ian Foinette told Canterbury Crown Court Topp had an arrangement with his former partner that she could leave her dogs at his home – but not that she could invite others there.

When he saw her on the settee with her new partner, Stephen Allen, dressed in her pink hotpants, he demanded they leave.

He later claimed that as they walked out he was threatened and armed himself with a chain and attacked them.

Terry Knox, defending, said the group had been drinking “and there was some suspicion that cannabis had been smoked”.

“It would appear that Mr Allen, the partner of Ms John, used to live with Mr Topp but that they had fallen out. Mr Topp wasn’t happy about the relationship between Mr Allen and Ms John.”

He said that she was with Mr Allen and Darren Rains in Topp’s home for 90 minutes before he returned.

“There was an element of provocation as all three people had been there a while. He then found Mr Allen and Ms John lying on his couch with him wearing her pink hotpants.

“He asked them to leave and then acted in the way he did. He has now severed all relations with Ms John, “ he added.

Judge Nigel Van Der Bijl said it was “an unpleasant incident in which the injuries could have been much worse.

“But you have shown remorse and you have no previous convictions.”
