Appeal after car is stolen then torched

Police are appealing for witnesses following an arson attack on a stolen car in Blue Town.

The incident happened at around 11.20pm on Sunday outside Royal Fountain Mews in West Street, Blue Town.

A crew from Sheppey fire attended and put out the fire, which completely destroyed the car.

They believed it to be suspicious and reported it to the police.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Police are calling for witnesses after a stolen car was parked in West Street yesterday evening and set alight.

“The blue Citroen estate had been stolen earlier that evening from an address in Amethyst Drive in Sittingbourne and was reported to patrols after being set on fire outside Royal Fountain Mews.”
