Welling kept up with the Blue Square South pace-setters thanks to a 3-1 win at Basingstoke Town.

Loick Pires, Jack Parkinson and Lee Clarke (pictured) all found the scoresheet to keep the Wings fourth in the table. Pires opened the scoring on 39 minutes when he pounced on a rebound from Andy's Pugh shot that was tipped onto the post by Basingstoke goalkeeper Simon Moore.

Welling goalkeeper Gareth Stewart produced a smart save in first half stoppage time to deny Basingstoke striker Delano Sam-Yorke.

He was kept busy after the break and the hosts pressure eventually paid off on 75 minutes. David Pratt's shot rounded off a smart move which was created by winger Matt Warner. Warner cut inside from the left wing and found Pratt in space to level the scores.

But, Welling's response was almost immediate when Parkinson put the visitors back in front on 80 minutes. A short free kick was layed off to him 25 yards out and his low shot sailed past Moore's outstretched hand into the far corner.

Clarke then sealed the three points in injury time from the penalty spot. The front man was adjudged to have been brought down by Moore inside the area as he tried to take the ball around him. Clarke then sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from 12 yards.

Bromley moved back into second place in Blue Square South thanks to a 2-1 win at Thurrock.

Goals from Ryan Dolby and Warren McBean secured the Lillywhites first league win since September. Bromley goalkeeper Wes Foderingham was kept busy early on, making three fine saves within the first 10 minutes.

McBean almost scored in the first half when he somehow managed to hit both posts with a low shot. But, both sides scored within a minute of each other before the break. Dolby put the visitors ahead, but while celebrations continued among the travelling supporters, captain Jon Scarborough was penalised for fouling Lee Roache in the area. Cliff Akurang stepped up to convert the penalty.

McBean restored Bromley's lead on 53 minutes, heading in a fine cross from Tony Finn. The result sees Bromley move to within a point of leaders Braintree Town after their FA Cup conquerors Chelmsford City lost 3-1 away to Farnborough.
