Beefy best man Richard Clacey has two reasons to lose weight on national televsion.

The 41-year-old wants to look his best in a decent suit for the wedding -and to attract his own love-match.

Richard, from Hoo, in Medway, is seeking to achieve his aim in front of millions of TV viewers.

He will find out on Friday if he has made it the final of an ITV1 weight loss show.

He has made it to the last six contenders competing for four places in this year’s blistering bootcamp for Daybreak’s Downsize in Dubai.

Richard was featured on the show, when he told viewers he had struggled with his weight and was sick of it holding him back.

At 26 stone 12, Richard said unless he shapes up he will be unable to be best man at his friend’s wedding in August.

He said: “I just thought it would be nice to wear a really nice suit. If I don’t lose the weight I won’t be able to find a suit to fit me and won’t be able to do it.”

He added that with his current weight he finds himself making excuses to avoid going out to stop people looking at him, but can’t kick his junk food addiction.

If picked as one of the final four, Richard will be put through his paces as he jets off to Dubai where he will be helped and trained by I’m a Celebrity runner-up Mark Wright, TV presenter Sarah Heaney, Coleen Rooney’s fitness trainer, Elise Lindsay, nutritionist, Faith Toogood and mind coach Emma Kenny.

Downsize in Dubai’s bootcamp will be shown on ITV1’s Daybreak show until Friday, January 20.
