Boy, 16, arrested for St Simon Stock school fire

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a Molotov cocktail was thrown into a Maidstone school.

The secondary school's science block was slightly damaged in the firebombing, but the fire was put out before firefighters arrived at St Simon Stock Catholic School at around 7am yesterday.

A teenager from Chatham has been arrested in connection with the incident - which came as pupils sat exams.

He has been bailed for further police enquiries until July 27.
