A teenager is in a serious condition in hospital after his moped collided with a car.

Police are appealing for information following the crash in Old Surrenden Manor Road in Bethersden yesterday.

It happened at about 2.20pm as the 16-year-old was driving his black and red Aprilla moped in the direction of the junction with Kiln Road.

It crashed with a silver Peugeot 307 travelling in the opposite direction.

The unnamed teenager suffered serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance. He remains in a serious condition.
