A broken down train disrupted rail services this morning on a key line.

The train had broken down at Beltring, blocking the line between Maidstone West and Padoock Wood. It also caused problems between Strood and Tonbridge.

Southeastern warned that services were subject to cancellation or delays of up to 20 minutes as a result.

The disruption continued until just after noon.

Southeastern confirmed the train has subsequently been moved and was returning to the depot for repairs.
