Eco activists have been holding a weekend of action against energy giant E.ON.

The 48 hours of action is the latest salvo of thecampaign to stop the construction of a new coal fired power station at Kingsnorth near Hoo.

Peaceful demonstrations took place outside E.ON's offices in London and Coventry on Friday, with activists waving banners and handing out anti-E.ON leaflets.

Protesters also gathered outside branches of The Royal Band of Scotland (RBS)in Brighton and Bristol. According to campaigners, RBS finances many E.ON projects.

The protests have been organised to coincide with the second round of the FA Cup, which is sponsored by E.ON.

A demo was held outside the FA headquarters in London yesterday with activists wearing football shirts emblazoned with the names of new coal-fired powers stations in the pipeline across the UK.

It has not been revealed if campaigners plan any sort of action at Kingsnorth.

A demonstration is expected in Norwich later today but activists are keeping any other plans firmly under wraps.

A spokesman for Camp for Climate Action said: "We are really pleased with how it has gone so far but it isn't over yet. Watch this space."
