A nightclubber was battered and left needing hospital treatment after a fight in Canterbury.

The 24-year-old was with friends and had just left Club Chemistry, in Station Road East, when he ran into a group of people next to the bus stop in Pin Hill.

Police say a fight erupted and the victim suffered head injuries at about 12.20am on Sunday. The man was taken to hospital in Margate.

Two men aged 26 have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail while officers make further enquiries.

People in vehicles, including a mini-bus, stopped to help the victim and police are appealing for these witnesses to call them.

Anyone who saw the assault or has any other information is asked to phone DC Kirsty Bricknell on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
