Gillingham defender Matt Fish will be on a League 2 revenge mission this week.

Gills head to Exeter on Tuesday with memories of a 3-2 home defeat still fresh.

The play-off chasers came from behind in November to take all three points, scoring the winner with just two minutes to go.

Fish, pictured, said: “We definitely owe them one. Their home form isn’t great and we can go there and win.”

Saturday’s victory over Plymouth extended Gillingham’s lead at the top of League 2 as the club edge ever closer to promotion. And while Fish knows there is still plenty to do, he is confident this team can also do well if, and when, they make the step up.

He said: “With the people the manager has brought in, players from League 1 like Myles Weston, Leon Legge and Adam Barrett, we have a good depth to the squad.

“The manager might want to bring in a few in the summer when we get promoted but the team we have now could definitely hold its own."
