Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg met the party faithful during a visit to Maidstone today.

The Lib Dem leader chatted with councillors and representatives from Kent and further afield during the whistle stop tour of the county.

The front bencher discussed the Lib Dem conference, local issues and the party's performance in government among other matters.

He was due to attend Grange Moor Hotel in St Michael's Road last month, but was forced to abandon the visit due to the riots.
