The artists – all second year BA fine art students at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury – called their exhibition Origins.

Photographs, paintings and sculptures were among the works.

There was also a sound installation, a mythical family tree and an abstract representation of a womb.

Casey Mae, one of the participating artists, said: “I have always been interested in the space, and am so happy to finally realise my dream to use it.

“It’s such an exciting prospect that we may be opening a whole world of new possibilities for other artists to use this space in the future.”

The other artists who took part in Origins were Alexia Froluch, Alessia Di Mare, Georgia Buckland, Josie Bassett, Kirsty Ashby, Lucy Kelleher and Xiao Kun Zheng.
