Dog's ordeal trapped in wine rack

A hapless hound got her head stuck in a wine rack.

The thirteen-year-old black alsatian got trapped at her family home in Willesborough as she tried to follow a household cat through a gap in the rack.

Firefighters used hacksaws and other cutting gear to free her.

An Ashford Fire Station spokesman said: "She had obviously been playing when she got stuck.

"We had to use hacksaws, bolt croppers, tin snips and pliers to cut away the section she was trapped in but we freed her in 15 to 20 minutes.

"She was not injured, nor was she distressed by what happened."

One fire engine was called to rescue the dog at the home at Kings Chase at 4.55pm yesterday.
