Driver bailed over road death of Ebbsfleet United boss Liam Daish's father

A man has been bailed after a crash that claimed the life of a football manager's father.

Police confirmed a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing the death of Ebbsfleet United boss Liam Daish's father William.

Mr Daish, 70, died after the car he was driving to work was struck by bales of straw that fell off a tractor travelling in the opposite direction.

He died at the scene, in Sidlesham, West Sussex, on the morning of Friday, September 28.

Sussex Police confirmed the man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on bail until January 9.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned into Mr Daish's death.
