Driver seriously hurt in three-car smash

A man suffered serious injuries when the car he was driving was involved in a three-vehicle crash on a main road.

The smash happened at around 10.30pm Wednesday on the A25 at the junction with Watery Lane in Seal, near Sevenoaks.

A black VW Golf was travelling towards Borough Green collided with a silver BMW and head-on with a red Vauxhall Corsa.

A police spokesman said the driver of the Golf, a local man in his 30s, was taken to Maidstone Hospital with serious injuries. He was later transferred to hospital in London.

A man driving the Corsa suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed for around five hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Meanwhile, police are investigating after an elderly man driving the wrong way on the A21 was involved in a crash.

He was a blue Ford Fiesta southbound on the northbound carriageway from the Sevenoaks area towards Tonbridge when it collided with a Renault Megane.

Police received a series of calls about the incident, which happened at around 1.30pm Wednesday.

No one was badly hurt but the driver of the Renault suffered shock.
