In one 90-minute session at Sandgate, 40 drivers were caught without a seatbelt and a further four were filmed talking on their phones.

Punishment is a £30 fine for not wearing a seatbelt and a £60 fine with three points for using a mobile.

Katherine Barrett, communications officer for K&MSCP said the special one-week filming clampdown would run at safety camera sites until February 22.
