Dump truck suspect remanded

A MAN has appeared in court charged with dangerous driving and criminal damage after a 40-tonne dumper truck caused a trail of destruction on a Kent estate.

Christopher David Mills, of East Malling, appeared at Maidstone Magistrates Court in Maidstone on Wednesday following an incident on the Clare Park Estate in East Malling on Monday where an earth mover caused £50,000 of damage to parked cars and buildings.

Mr Mills is also charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving an uninsured vehicle and driving without a licence.

The 29-year-old construction worker, who did not enter a plea at the hearing, will reappear at Maidstone Magistrates Court via video link on Thursday, June 23.

He was remanded in custody.
