The Great British Bake Off tent has been both lucky and unlucky for us here in Kent.

We have seen incredible highs with Laura Adlington from Gravesend finishing as a runner up in Series 11 and Chetna Makan from Broadstairs reaching the semi-finals in Series 5

The spin-off charity show on Channel 4 sees celebrities donning an apron and baking their best cakes and biscuits to raise money for charity.

The upcoming series will see a new line-up of famous faces enter the tent in the hopes of impressing judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

It is once again being hosted by Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas and the stars' culinary efforts will be put to the test as they create signature, technical and showstopper bakes.

Actor Blake Harrison, best-known for playing Neil Sutherland in the BAFTA-winning E4 comedy The Inbetweeners has been announced as part of the star-studded line up.

The 36-year-old was spotted filming in Herne Bay for the ITV sitcom Kate & Koji in which he plays a Medium called Dan back in 2020.

He now lives in Kent with his wife Kerry Ann Lynch and their two children.

Blake will compete alongside University of Kent alumna Ellie Goulding.

Ellie, 35, is an award-winning singer with four BMI London and two Brit awards under her belt - she was also nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance at the 58th Grammy Awards.

She was studying drama and theatre studies at The University of Kent before leaving the course at the end of her second year to pursue a career in music.

In 2019 she was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in a ceremony at Canterbury Cathedral.

The first episode of the five-part series is set to air on tonight (March 22) at 8pm.
