Fire damages soccer club's disused tea room

AN ELECTRICAL fault if thought to be the cause of a fire in a disused tea room at Chatham Town Football Club’s ground.

Firefighters from Medway and Chatham were called out to the burning outhouse at about 9.30pm on Sunday.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: "Around 25 per cent of the building was damaged by the fire. Inside the door and part of the wall were burnt as was most of the fascia.

"Crews were on the scene for about 40 minutes and determined the fire was due to an electrical fault."
