Firefighters tackle blaze at industrial unit

ABOUT 20 firefighters were called to deal with a fire at an industrial unit in East Peckham, near Maidstone, this afternoon.

Police set up a 200 metre exclusion zone around the blaze which started in the unit in Bells Farm Road at about 2.20pm.

The exclusion zone is expected to be maintained for 24 hours as the building contains cylinders of the highly explosive gas acetylene.
