First women's trade fair a success

A GROUP of women entrepreneurs has taken part in their first trade fair.

The event, at the Alexander Centre, Faversham, on Saturday, was designed to promote these newly established businesswomen who took part in the Swale Women Entrepreneur's Programme.

Members of the public were able to look at various products and services including a personal trainer and a jewellery designer.

The event was also organised by one of the group. Sally Shaxted, of Choresdone, Faversham.

Mrs Shaxted said she was pleased at the reception from members of the public and she had learned much about organising similar events in the future.

She hoped to hold another in about six months time and gradually build up to monthly shows.

"It's given me a lot more confidence and it's helped build up the confidence of the ladies and I've seen what other new businesses are still in the town and are still struggling. I didn't realise how many are out there," she said.
