TWO men and their sons who were reported missing after failing to return from a fishing trip have now made contact with their families.

Anthony Bainbridge, 41 and his 37-year-old brother Darren had not been seen since noon on Saturday.

They had left their Rochester homes with their 10 and 11-year-old sons, Ricky and Luke.

Their families thought they had gone to the Edenbridge area in West Kent but said it was completely out of character for them to have been gone so long without making contact.

Police carried out a search involving a police helicopter but found no trace of the four or the car they were travelling in, a red Chrylser estate.

But they made contact with their families on Sunday evening. A police spokesman said they had been fishing in a mobile phone blackspot.

The spokesman added that the four were safe and well.
