Floods: worst may now be over

ENVIRONMENT Agency experts said today that thousands of homes in Kent had escaped yet more flooding despite more heavy rainfall yesterday.

The agency was hoping today that the worst case scenario had been avoided, though it emphasised that "we are not 100 per cent out of the woods".
