Gillingham manager Martin Allen bolstered his squad with a triple signing on Friday afternoon.

Having recruited goakeeper Tommy Forecast from Southampton on a season–long loan in the morning, Allen then brought in another keeper Stuart Nelson, striker Ben Strevens and midfielder Charlie Allen.

Nelson signed a two-year deal having been released by Notts County at the end of last season.

He played 90 games for the Magpies and is expected feature in Gillingham's pre-season friendly with Dartford at Princes Park on Saturday.

The 30-year-old previously played for Martin Allen at Brentford and Notts County.

Strevens, 32, signed a one-year deal following a free transfer from Wycombe where he scored 12 times in 84 matches.

He played 30 minutes for the Gills in Wednesday's behind-closed-doors-friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge and is also likely to face the Darts.

Charlie Allen,20, has moved from Notts County on an initial one-year deal, which the Gills have the option of extending for a further season.

He began his career at Dagenham’s youth set-up and joined County last summer. After playing nine times in all competitions, he released at the end of the season.
