Gillingham chairman Paul Scally to decide on Stanley Aborah's future

Stanley Aborah's future at Gillingham is in the hands of chairman Paul Scally, after the midfielder was ruled out for another two weeks.

Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler has been unable to field the former Ajax man in competitive action due to a thigh injury which Aborah picked up on the eve of the Football League season.

Aborah (pictured) signed a one-month contract with the Gills at the start of the season but that will expire before he has had the chance to kick a ball.

Now Hessenthaler must ask the Gills chairman if he is willing to take a further gamble on the player.

Hessenthaler said: "We have to decide what we do and I need to speak to the chairman on Saturday about it.

"Maybe we can give him a chance to get himself fit but the chairman won’t do that for too much longer if he is injured.

"Hopefully he can come back quicker than they are saying but at the moment I don’t think he will."
