Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler has released winger Bruce Inkango.

The pacy winger was restricted to just six appearances during his three-month stay with the Gills and made just one start.

Inkango has, however, reportedly got a club in France interested in signing him on.

Hessenthaler delivered the news to the player after training on Monday afternoon.

The Gills boss said: “Bruce is a fantastic lad and always played and trained with a smile on his face.

“We really needed to see more from him than he showed us on the pitch and finances also played a part in the decision. We have Andy Barcham coming back from injury and he is a strong contender for that shirt on the left side of the pitch.”

The Gills are also set to announce their decision regards to Danny Spiller imminently. He is out of contract at the end of the year and looks set to be offered a deal until the end of the current season.
