Gillingham have parted company with manager Mark Stimson following the side's second relegation from League 1 in three years.

Saturday's 3-0 defeat at already-relegated Wycombe ensured the Gills would face an immediate return to League 2, having won promotion in a Wembley play-off final last May.

The defeat at Adams Park ended a season in which Gillingham failed to win a single game away from Priestfield with just six draws from their 23 away games, scoring just 13 goals in the process.

Former Stevenage boss Stimson, 42, met chairman Paul Scally on Monday morning and has his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

Has Paul Scally done the right thing? Who should be the new Gills boss? Have your say in our comments section.
