'I can't believe it!' - boxing ref picked for world title bout

Total shock.

That is the first reaction of Kent boxing referee Ian John-Lewis, after he was picked to officiate next month’s WBC heavyweight title fight.

The bout, scheduled for March 21, will see current champion Vitali Klitschko clash with challenger Juan Carlos Gomez.

John-Lewis, from Gillingham, has been involved in boxing for 30 years and described the forthcoming bout as a dream come true.
