Impressive engine choice with Hyundai's new Coupe

THE all-new Hyundai Coupe is on sale from Monday, January 28. The 1.6 S is priced at £14,499; the 2.0 SE is £16,499; and the flagship 2.7 V6 is £18,499.

Developed over a period of 26 months at a cost of $230m, the new Coupe will be manufactured at Hyundai's Ulsan plant in Korea. Longer and wider than the previous model, the new Coupe is available with three engine variants. The 1.6 S has a top speed of 115 mph and does the 0-62mph dash in 11.6 seconds.

The 2.0 SE has 136bhp of power and a top speed of 128mph. It reaches 62mph in 9.2 seconds. The 2.7 V6 engine makes its first appearance in the Coupe, having previously been seen in the Trajet and Santa Fe.

It has a top speed of 136mph and 0-62mph figure of 8.2 seconds.

The 2.0 will be offered with the Porsche designed semi-automatic H-tronic gearbox for the first time, while the 2.7 V6 will be available with either H-tronic or six-speed manual gearbox.

Passenger and side airbags are new features for the Coupe. Standard equipment for all models will include driver, passenger and side airbags, anti-lock brakes, six speaker radio/CD player and air conditioning.

The 2.0 and 2.7 V6 will add leather seats and cruise control to this list.
