Intruders steal school fete prizes

STAFF and pupils have been the victims of thieves who stole items due to be used during an school fete this coming weekend.

Sometime between 6pm on Friday, June 30, and and 8am on Monday, July 3, intruders scaled a 6ft fence surrounding the PTA shed at Kings Hill Primary School, near West Malling.

Entry was gained into the building causing extensive damage to the outer door.

Dan Clegg, police media and communications officer for the Mid-Kent area, said: "The shed contained a number of items and it is believed many were going to be used at this weekend’s school fete.

"This includes 150 cans of soft drink and some torches, which were going to be given out as prizes."

Sgt Steve Cable, of Mid Kent Police, said: “We will be carrying out local enquiries in an attempt to track down those responsible. However, we would urge anyone with any information that may assist the investigation to contact Maidstone Police Station on 01622 690055 or call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
