Intruders tie up homeowner and steal cash

A man was tied up by two intruders before they went into his house and stole cash.

The man was returning to his house in West Street, Hunton, yesterday between midday and 1pm.

Two men approached him and tied his hands. They entered the house and took cash.

Police say one of the offenders is aged between 17 and 19 and has a stocky build. He was wearing glasses, brown gloves and a baseball cap.

It is believed the man disturbed the offenders, who may have already been at the house.

Det Sgt Robert Cox said: "I believe this was an isolated incident and my officers are carrying out a number of enquiries. We would like to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously or anyone with information about the offenders."

"If anyone living in the Hunton area has any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhood they can leave a message for PC Gary Shaw or PCSO Hannah Percival in the neighbourhood policing office on 01622 604392."

Anyone with information should call police on 01622 690055 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
