Striker Joe Healy has become the latest player to agree a deal with Welling.

The forward, who has previously enjoyed a couple of spells at Park View Road, has impressed manager Jamie Day during pre-season.

But the Wings boss is waiting to hear if James Lawson is going to stay with the club after attracting interest from AFC Hornchurch.

Lawson, who missed the whole of last season after an injury in pre-season, has returned to full fitness and played a part in Welling's pre-season programme to date.

Day said: "We've agreed a deal with Joe and I'm waiting to hear from James.

"James has done well in pre-season but we can only afford to offer him what we can afford."

Day will also give six trialists another chance to impress in the friendly at home to Millwall on Tuesday night.

Femi Omogbehin, Kane Rice, Darren Marsden, Anthony Achempong, Jordan Johnson and Junior Dadson (pictured) are all expected to feature. It means other trialists, including Dean Mason and Junior Alabi, have been released.

Day added: "We need to make a decision at some point and be fair to the players as well. We felt that they were no better than what we already had so we've had to let them go.

"We may have one or two more trialists coming in but I'm waiting to hear. We'll be looking at the other trialists again and then we'll be closer to making a final decision."

The game with Millwall kicks-off at 7.45pm.
