Olympic trampoline hopeful Kat Driscoll’s day of destiny arrives on Saturday when she seeks one last strong performance to secure her spot in TeamGB.

Ever since the former world No.1, originally from Walderslade, earned Great Britain a place in the Olympic event by qualifying for the World Championship Final in Birmingham last November, people have pretty much assumed Driscoll will be the one who fills it.

However, GB team-mate Laura Gallagher claimed bronze at the European Championships in Russia last month and Driscoll’s synchro partner Amanda Parker is also applying pressure for the sole place in TeamGB this summer.

The 26-year-old’s chance to secure the berth arrives with the fourth and final British Gymnastics Olympic trial, the North West Gala at Greenbank Sports Academy, Liverpool, on Saturday night.

Driscoll explained: "It’s still a little bit complicated. It’s pretty much just about delivering in the final.

"If I can do that and the other two don’t do exceptional preliminaries, then that should be enough, although I’m hoping to improve my prelim score as well.

"It will pretty much all boil down to the final, though.

"I will try to take it the same as any other competition I go into. The prelims will be a little bit nervy but everyone’s going to know it’s about the final.

"When it comes to the final, I’m normally better when there’s an extra bit of pressure on it and I get some more adrenaline.

"If I know I just have to go and do an OK routine, I’m not normally as good but if I have to get on and fight, then I’m normally better.

"I’m trying to not look back –it’s all about looking forward. I’m not changing any routines I’ve been doing. When you change things after two years, that’s when you start to get problems.

"I feel pretty confident that I know I’m the strongest girl in Great Britain.

"It’s just about me delivering on that one day and proving everyone right that’s said: ‘It’s your place, you deserve it, you’ve done so much over the last couple of years’."

"Getting to the Olympics is the only thing I’m aiming for right now."
