The M20 has re-opened more than eight hours after a lorry fire.

Heavy queues built up after two trucks were involved in a collision on the coastbound carriageway between junctions one and two at about 6am.

After the crash, on the coastbound carraigeway, one lorry caught alight.

A man has been slightly injured – with no reports of anyone having to go to hospital. According to Kent Police, the lorries were carrying dog biscuits and lager.

Three fire engines were sent to the scene and an environmental officer was also dispatched.

The M20 coastbound was closed between junctions one and three, before one lane was re-opened at about 12.30pm.

By 2.30pm, all lanes had re-opened and traffic was beginning to clear.
