DETECTIVES have charged a 47-year-old man with robbing the Peter Newman shoe shop in Birchington on March 28 and the attempted robbery of a Ramsgate shop two days later.
Stephen William Manning, of Prestedge Avenue, Ramsgate, is also accused of possessing a firearm and possessing an imitation firearm.
He appeared at Margate Magistrates' Court on Monday and was remanded in custody to reappear in Canterbury Crown Court on April 19.
The three other people arrested in connection with the shoe shop robbery have all been bailed by police until April 6 pending further enquiries.
