Man to appear in court after death crash

A motorist was appearing in court today following the death of a man in a motorway crash.

Steven O’Riley has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following the smash on the M2.

O’Riley, 24, of Upper Churchtown Road, Dublin, Ireland, will appear before Medway magistrates. He is also charged with having no insurance.

The three-car pile-up, which claimed the life 52-year-old Andrew Gregory, of Harris Road, Sheerness, happened at 3.30am on Friday on the coastbound M2, just past Farthing Corner services, Gillingham.

The vehicles involved were two Volkswagens, a Golf and Bora, and a Peugeot 405.

The identity of the dead man has not yet been released.

The accident was one of three separate ones on the M2 that day, which caused traffic chaos on the area.
