A MEMORIAL to those who fought in the Falklands conflict 25 years ago has been unveiled.

The 3ft square memorial – an admiralty pattern anchor laid across rocks – is now by the entrance to Pembroke House naval retirement home in Oxford Road, Gillingham.

It is the first memorial in Medway specifically for those involved in the Falklands.

The memorial was unveiled by Medway Mayor Cllr Val Goulden.

Sea cadets from Medway and Faversham provided a guard of honour and a band.
