Folkestone Invicta jumped out of the Ryman League Premier Division relegation zone with a 4-0 win over fellow-strugglers Maidstone United at the Buzzlines Stadium.

James Everitt (pictured) opened the scoring on 13 minutes and Frankie Chappell made it 2-0 seven minutes before the break.

Everitt grabbed his second to make it 3-0 15 minutes from time and Chappell completed the rout and his brace four minutes from time.

The win catapulted Invicta up to fifth-bottom, a point clear of the drop-zone having played a game fewer than two of the teams below them.

Maidstone stay second-bottom but are three points behind Folkestone having played a game more and with a vastly inferior goal difference.

Tonbridge Angels lost ground on the leaders after being held 1-1 at Longmead by mid-table Canvey Island.

The Gulls took the lead just four minutes after the break and it took until 11 minutes from time for John Beales to find the net to keep Angels third, now 13 points being leaders Sutton, with two games in hand.

Cray Wanderers' play-off hopes took a hit after allowing a lead slip to a 1-1 draw at Carshalton Athletic.

Laurent Hamici put the Wands ahead from the spot before the break with his 17th of the season but the hosts levelled during the second half.

Faversham Town were held 1-1 at play-off rivals Burgess Hill Town in Ryman League Division 1 South.

Matt Bourne's goal 25 minutes from time cancelled-out Hill's second-minute opener.

The draw means seventh-placed Town are three points behind Hill having played two more games.
