Missing person police find body in river

Police searching for a missing 60-year-old man have recovered a body from the River Medway.

The body has yet to be formally identified - but it is thought to be that of Roger Hope from Borstal.

Mr Hope had been missing from his home in Cambria Avenue since Monday, April 13 when he was last seen by his brother.

A police spokesman said: "[The body] was discovered on Thursday afternoon near to the Esplanade, Rochester following a sighting by a member of the public."

The spokesman added the death was not being treated as suspicious.
