Murder hunt after woman is stabbed to death

DETECTIVES launched a murder investigation after the body of a woman in her 20s was discovered at about 6am on Sunday. She had been stabbed.

The body was discovered at a home in London Lane, Bromley. A New Scotland Yard spokesman said: "She had suffered stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. We still await formal identification."

A post mortem examination will be held. An incident room was opened at Barnes under Det Insp Howard Groves.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the inquiry and is now in custody at an east London police station.

Police said originally that the victim was aged 28 but they now say she was 25.
