Police officer charged with death by dangerous driving in Tonbridge

A policeman is due in court today charged with causing a woman's death by dangerous driving.

Metropolitan officer PC Nigel Brown, 46, from the force’s Specialist Crime Directorate, is is up before Sevenoaks magistrates follwing an investigation by the Indpeendent Police Complaints Commission.

It comes after 29-year-old Felicity Austin, of The Paddock, Hadlow, was killed in a road accident on May 5, last year on the A21 Pembury Road, Tonbridge.

The force car driven by the officer was on operational duties at the time of the incident. Felicity Austin was the only person in the car at the time of the head on collision.

The IPCC managed an investigation by Kent Police.
