Power cut firm apologises for latest blackout

100 homes in Gillingham were left without power for more than 24 hours.

The blackout affected residents living in the Beresford Road area.

Power supplies were cut at 4.57pm on Wednesday last week and engineers were unable to fix the problem 6pm the following day.

EDF Energy Networks has apologised for the loss of power, which was due to a fault with an underground cable.

A spokesman said:"We appreciate how difficult it can be to lose power, especially at this time of year, and apologise for the inconvenience caused by this incident.

"Our customer relations department will be writing to those affected to further explain and apologise."
