Those magnificent women and their flying machine

Sorry, this video asset has been removed.

This is what happens when blonde bimbos try to fly!

As majestic flights go, this ranks alongside Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards' ski jumping.

But these highly glamorous women had a message to other competitors at the Flugtag flying competition at Hyde Park at the weekend: have handbag, will travel.

The team, known as the Blonde Bimbos, from Broadstairs, designed their flying machine as a girly pink handbag, complete with feathers.

Of course, the flying experience would not have been complete without naff blonde wigs and a couple of strategically placed balloons!

Winners of the competition, which involved jumping off a six-metre ramp into the Serpentine, were the Glad Winners, who managed a staggering 17 metres before getting a soaking.

Other entrants included four break-dancing nuns and the mythological character Icarus.
