TikTok craze causes spike in fire crews freeing people from baby swings in Kent

Fire chiefs have hit out at time-wasters after a spike in baby swing rescues blamed on a TikTok craze.

Wannabe social media influencers across Kent have been trying to squeeze into the play park equipment while being filmed for the popular app.

But the fire service has freed 63 people since January last year and is not amused.

As a comparison, in the past four years a total of 99 people have been rescued.

This prompted the service to take to Twitter to plead with content creators not to attempt to force themselves into the apparatus.

In a spoof of Jay Z's hit 99 Problems the Tweet states: "99 problems with swings stuck on bums.

"If you having TikTok problems we feel bad you hun.

"We got 99 (swing) problems when it should be none."

Crews believe the hike is likely due to the TikTok craze sweeping across Britain.

They also urged people to stop as it "wastes crews' time".
